How does TopDeal work?

Topdeal.com.au is a community-based deals platform where users can find, share, discuss, and enjoy the best deals and voucher codes available both online and in stores. Best of all, it’s Free to join!

We are not a retail or auction website and do not sell products directly to you.

Who can post deals?

Anyone can post a deal on Topdeal. To do this, simply creating a Topdeal account. We want Topdeal to be a place people trust to find genuine deals. This means we don’t allow companies to share their own products/services.

How do I submit a deal/voucher code?

Once you're signed in to your Topdeal account, click the big "+" button at the top right corner of any page, then select "Deal or Voucher code". From here, paste the url of the product or sale you wish to post. Our system will grab as much info as it can from the original website. Anything that it leaves blank is up to you to fill out.

What if I forgot my password?

Just click on the "Join" button, then the "Forgotten your password?" link. You'll be requested to enter your email address and we'll send you instructions to reset your password. Check your spam :) If you have any problems please get in touch.

I just submitted a deal/voucher code and it's not showing. Why?

Every deal we feature on our site has to pass through our thorough testing process. Once a deal has been verified, rated, and approved, it will show up on our site.

Can I delete my deal?

No - once a deal is posted and users start shopping for that item or commenting, they need an anchor point or reference to return to if things don’t work out well with their purchase. Our community are the most valuable aspect of our site, and removing threads when our users are actively engaging, commenting and sharing their insights would be detrimental to the users who took the time to get involved.

My deal has been removed, why?

There may be many reasons that a deal you posted is no longer visible.

  • It may be in moderation: we check most deals before validating and publishing
  • Some merchants aren’t permitted on our site. If you post a deal for one of these merchants, you might see an error on submission. Alternatively, the moderator team will contact you directly
  • We also automatically delete all deals that do not comply with our rules.

If your deal is deleted you’ll receive a message from us to explain the reasons. If you have not received a message from us, but your deal has disappeared, do not hesitate to contact us.

My account

Why has my account been disabled?

Your account has probably been disabled for violating the terms of our website.

Reasons include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating or using multiple user accounts on a single computer or household.
    • We have a strict "one account per household" policy.  If multiple accounts are detected on the same computer, then one or both of them could be automatically disabled.
  • Invalid offer submissions
    • If your account regularly submits non-working coupons, it will be disabled.
  • Spam
    • Any activity we deem as spam (including votes, comments, coupons) will result in your account being permanently disabled.
  • Inappropriate conduct
    • Any obscene language or harassing comments towards other users
  • Other
    • We reserve the right to disable your account for any reason we see fit, which may or may not include one or more of the above.

If you feel your account has been disabled in error, you may contact us by clicking here.  Please provide as much details has possible as to what you did to cause your account to be disabled, and why you believe it should be reinstated. Be sure to include your correct username and email address.

What if I forgot my password?

I would like to change my username, is it possible?

You can edit your username directly from your profile settings. Make sure it's correct; you can only do it once.

Anyone can post a deal on Topdeal. To do this, simply creating a Topdeal account. We want Topdeal to be a place people trust to find genuine deals. This means we don’t allow companies to share their own products/services.

Is it possible to edit my deal once it has been released?

Yes, you can edit your deal and discussions as much as you want. If a member of the moderation team is already modifying your deal, you will have to wait a few minutes before you can make any further changes yourself.

What if I have other questions?

I'd like to report a bug

Is topdeal.com.au or one of our related services not behaving as expected?  We appreciate you letting us know!  Our developers monitor bug reports sent by our visitors to detect emergencies and improve the user experience for everybody. You can report a bug by clicking here. Please be as detailed as possible, including user details, device/browser, and other pertinent information. Screenshots are also very helpful.

Can I contact Topdeal’s customer service about my purchases?

Top Deal does not directly sell any products or services. Any deals found on the Top Deal site are fulfilled, shipped and/or downloaded from the company or online retailer that is linked to topdeal.com.au. If you have any issues with any product or service rendered, we suggest you contact the store with whom you placed the order.

I have a question about payment, or shipping. Who do I talk to?

You should contact the retailer or merchant directly if you have any issues with your order, payment, or shipping. Please review your receipt, confirmation email, or package label to determine who you purchased from, and contact that merchant directly.

How can my company’s deals and voucher codes appear on Topdeal.com.au?

Top Deal is happy to work directly with you. The best way to connect with us is to reach out to our Business Development team.

Visit our Contact Us page to fill out our partner request form. We want to work with you to deliver great deals for our community. Please keep in mind, however, that we have strict rules against self-promotion, meaning we do not allow retailers to post their own deals, nor anyone associated with that merchant in any form.

These rules are in place because we believe in our community, and trust that they will work together to surface only the best deals.

If all retail and merchant partners posted openly in our forums, we believe it would change the quality of the deals on the site. That said, please feel free to reach out to the Business Development team to learn more about how we can work together more closely.

Is Topdeal free to use?

Yes! Topdeal  is FREE to use and join. There are no membership fees to participate. We NEVER collect bank account, credit card, or any other sort of payment information from anyone that uses our site or who registers to be a member.

Why is the price on Topdeal different from the price on the retailer's website?

There are several reasons the prices may not match. Be sure to read the description to make sure you haven’t missed any codes, details, or rebates. If you are positive that is not the case, it may be one of the following:

  • Expired: The deal may have simply expired and is no longer available. Flag it so a moderator can take care of it.
  • Price Dropped: It is possible the deal has gotten even better! Leave a comment to alert your fellow community members.
  • Dynamic Pricing Structure: Certain websites, such as Amazon, feature dynamic pricing--meaning that the price swings up and down based on its popularity. A small difference in price is predictable.
How do I use voucher codes?

When ordering services or products online, companies and stores often provide special online deals or voucher codes for discounts you can apply to your purchase during checkout. Look for an input box labelled “coupon code”, “discount code”, or another variation, and paste or type the code you found on Topdeal.com.au in the text field.

Using voucher codes is always free, no login required. However, we encourage you to take advantage of some of the features that come along with a user account.

 
Why Can't I Post a Comment?

If you can't post a comment, there may be three reasons:

  1. Commenting Disabled
  • You are no longer permitted to post comments.
  • Why? This is usually because our system has noticed spam, copy and paste, duplicate comments, manipulation of comments to get points, rude comments, unsafe content, unsafe links or the use of multiple accounts.

How Do I Get Commenting Back?

  • You need to understand that Top Deal is a community seeking genuine and helpful contribution.
  • To get commenting back, you need to contact us, explain what you think may have been wrong, and how you are going to change it going forward.
  • We will review your account, review comments made, and make the decision on a case-by-case basis. This may take several weeks.
  1. There May Be a Bug
  • Like all websites, sometimes we have technical problems. This may include commenting issues.
  • If you're struggling to write a comment and think it may be a technical problem, please contact us and select "Tech Support".
  1. You Are a Company Trying To Post Your Own Deals (Work With Us)
  • If you are a company and would like to post on Top Deal, go to contact us and select "Work With Us".
  • Top Deal is a community website and does not accept self-promotion (read our Guidelines). Your account may have been suspended in the meantime. Please get in touch with the reason, "Work With Us"

What does the temperature mean on a deal/voucher?

The temperature indicates the opinion of the community on a deal: each member can give a positive vote ("hot") or negative (“cold") and their votes add up to give a higher or lower temperature. A deal/voucher with a high temperature is therefore acclaimed by the community: good value for money, best price for a given service, interesting offer.

My deal has been removed, why?

There may be many reasons that a deal you posted is no longer visible.

  • It may be in moderation: we check most deals before validating and publishing
  • Some merchants aren’t permitted on our site. If you post a deal for one of these merchants, you might see an error on submission. Alternatively, the moderator team will contact you directly
  • We also automatically delete all deals that do not comply with our rules.

If your deal is deleted you’ll receive a message from us to explain the reasons. If you have not received a message from us, but your deal has disappeared, do not hesitate to contact us.

What information should I include when I submit a deal?

Our system does its best to pull all information automatically, but it isn’t perfect. If the information is blank, you must fill it in yourself. Required information is marked: you must have a deal linktitle, description, image, category, discounted price, original price.

What's the difference between a deal and a voucher?

A deal is a discounted price on a product or subset of products, while a voucher is either a code or a printable voucher, which is required to be submitted or surrendered at the time of purchase. There are certainly variations and overlap between each offer type, but we use these definitions to determine what shows up in Top Deals and what shows up in Vouchers.
