Allow us to introduce Z Wines. From dynamic sister duo Janelle and Kristen Zerk, the fifth generation of winemakers in their family. Everything from start to finish is in the hands of this pair of entrepreneurs. They produce, operate and own the entirety of their business and are already making wines that are comfortably standing alongside the great names of the Barossa. This August Grenache is made from gnarled old vines grown in the Barossa Valley. A gold-medal winner, this is a beautifully perfumed wine with ripe red fruit and potpourri aromatics. The tannins are soft and supple, making this very attractive to drink already, although it will continue developing for many years yet if you have the patience. This tasty wine has us very excited about this new-kid-on-the-block. Z wines are one to watch.
